Employer/Organisation Training Responsibilities
In accordance with UK National Aviation Security Programme (NASP) requirements the Department for Transport (DfT) require background checks or enhanced background checks to be successfully completed on individuals before undergoing any security training involving access to information that is not publicly available due to its security sensitivity.
Therefore to comply with this you or your organisation must declare and agree to only provide access to individuals that meet these requirements (the declaration will be available when purchasing licences).
Also, your personal data will be used to support your experience throughout this website, to manage access to your account and for other purposes described in our
privacy policy and
terms and conditions.
To ensure effective, compliant and quality controlled training the following will be agreed.
The training provider, Westminster Aviation Security Services Ltd (WASS), will ensure that appropriate quality assurance activities are implemented when providing computed based training technologies in the same way as with classroom-based training.
In order to ensure this, WASS will carry out an assessment upon a request for a training package and ensure that it is appropriate for the company and role of trainees. WASS will also require verification of the suitability of the person designated by the client/organisation/employer to oversee and invigilate the training and confirm that they will comply with all instructions related to correct and compliant receipt of the training package/s
The client/organisation/employer responsibilities will include the completion of a declaration accepting responsibility for the delivery and appointing an appropriate supervisor/invigilator to all training who will undertake the following:
- Confirm the identity of trainee/s participating in the training and assure that the training is appropriate to their role
- Ensure a suitable facility where training can be undertaken, which is comfortable with appropriate technology such as computers and monitors or television screen for the presentation of the training material. This should be assessed to ensure all trainees can easily see and hear the training material and an understanding that limitations on the class number may be indicated. In addition, this area should be apart from operational areas and free from distraction for the trainee
- Supervisor/invigilator must be present during the training to aid with any technological or IT issues and ensure that the trainee/s are fully engaged throughout. The training package has the timing embedded in it to prevent trainees from skipping through the presentation too quickly.
- The supervisor/invigilator must also ensure that there is no risk of malpractice which is deemed as the intentional practice of cheating in an exam, plagiarism, fabrication of results or work or impersonation of another learner during an exam by trainee/s.
- The supervisor/invigilator must not offer improper assistance to trainees during assessments, inventing or changing marks for exams, facilitating or allowing impersonation or falsely issuing certificates
